I grew up on a farm where I learned a lot from my grandpa about how the equipment worked, how to keep it running & the value of hard work. My first job was at a construction/excavating company where I really took an interest in mechanics, fabrication & machine design. I took drafting in 8th grade and really loved the class. I took two more years of vocational education during high school and I knew I wanted to be a mechanical designer. Upon completion of my associates in Computer Aided Design, I started immediately looking for ways to sharpen my skills and gain experience in mechanical design. I was active in forums and started to build an online profile on GrabCAD sharing models I had done in school and some I had done for the practice in reverse engineering and modeling. In its early days the website also acted as a design outsourcing marketplace and I was assigned several small design/rendering gigs & the opportunity to globally grow my network. After searching for what seemed like forever I finally got an internship working for an engineering consulting firm In Columbus, OH; MJ Engineering. The internship went great & I worked there for the next for 4 ½ years. Designing and making drawings for a wide variety of items. My next role was in Tennessee at MSC Manufacturing; designing, building, assembling and testing custom automated production equipment. As business got less busy I was let go to create POHL3D; my venture back into the world of CAD consulting. Here are some of the skills, specialties and services I have to offer:
